At the top of the list of important divisions within a company is Research and Development. This is the component that studies and researches future needs, that would spell out the success of the company. When a particular need is determined, development of plans to execute that need is required. Research and Development are important for governmental units, pharmaceutical companies, automobile manufacturers, and the fashion industry, to name a few. For example, new organic process chemistry developments are used in pharmaceuticals, nuclear energy plants, photography, and food production.
Among the myriad of governmental agencies, the Research and Development segment of the Forest Service has a mission of collecting data on grasslands, as well as the trees in forested areas. Their data provides information on all aspects of tree management, which aids in keeping the Nation’s natural resources in peak condition. This includes private, as well as, public land. Another government agency that benefits our country through Research and Development is the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency. Biomass, biochemistry, and biodiversity are areas of study used to determine air quality, drinking water quality, soil conditions, as well as the maintenance of healthy ecosystems worldwide.
Much of today’s modern technology has improved due to unique and innovative thinking about the uses of computers to aid the elderly and the disabled communities. Finding ways to improve communication with the non-hearing and/or non-speaking segments of the population is vital. Electronic communication aids, including digital talking books, have proved to be invaluable resources for many individuals. New advances in equipment increase the usefulness of ATMs and computers to everyone, and in particular, the disabled.
In short, Research and Development is an essential tool for all business entities.
