These tools must all be used in a very precise way to complete the process of producing a product. Those who use the tools must know what they are doing and must be trained.

Problems which have developed with cutting tools are imprecise measurements, ill fitting parts, bits breaking, overheating, slow speed, and difficulty of sharpening the tools. These have been overcome with the new technology of today. Computers are increasing the precision by designing better cutting tools. This eliminates the hand drawing of plans in the earlier days. New lubricant materials which reduce friction have been produced to help with the finished product. New materials are being researched.
