History of Machine Work

Machines today are used for everything.  They are used to help us check out groceries, used in Post Offices, and most jobs today can also be done by a machine, such as machines in a factory.

Machines started out at a normal speed like a person would do.  As years go on, the machines have been improved for them to move faster and be more efficient.  They ended up starting to replace a lot of people’s jobs.

Computers are a machine that took over typewriters.  Computers can help people with their spelling and grammar a lot better than the typewriter ever did.  Most computers now have internet where people can shop and apply for jobs without ever leaving their homes.

Machines took the jobs of people in factories as well. At first anyone could do the work. As the years went by the factories started to get machines built to replace at least half of the workers that they had hired.  These changed made it so that factories started to look for people that attended technical colleges to help work in the factories.  This made it harder for people who could not afford college to get a job in places with machines.  This made it so people who could already afford college got better jobs while people who were too poor were stuck with jobs that paid less. As the old saying goes, "The rich get richer while the poor get poorer."

Regardless of the many problems they may cause, machines do help society and will be around for a long time.
