Drafting has come along way in today Computerized Age. It used to be that when you took drafting in high school you had to purchase your drawing board, t-square, pencils, compasses, triangles, etc. Trying to carry that board along with you everywhere was a tremendous job, especially trying to maneuver in the hallway with all those kids.
But when you got into class you looked forward to drawing a design that you thought up in your head with the instruction and dimensions that you were given by your teacher. You would sit there with your big white sheet of paper and sketch with your hands, and sometimes your dimensions would be a little off. So you would either make correction or start all over again, especially since you didn't want your sketch to show too much erasing.
Back then when you thought about drafting you would think about building houses, building, or furniture. But today there are so many types of drafting classes you have: mechanical drafting, architectural drafting, electrical and electronics drafting, and welding drafting. Today drafting isn't done by hands as much as it used to. Today the kids have the opportunity to use a computer to aid in designing and drafting. Modernizing has changed things so much. You lose that individual spirit of designing. Using a computer for drafting is fine, but somethings need to still be done the old fashion way. Using a computer is the easy way of doing things. What ever happened to the old school way?
